Grades

The journey through the grades in Waldorf Education begins with the straight line and the curve. This seemingly simple picture is reflected in many ways. The stories of noble people in second grade are balanced with animal fables. In fifth grade, the expansive study of the Ancient Greeks is met with careful observation in Botany. This breathing quality supports the students in developing the skills needed to meet the world – reflection and focus.

A hidden treasure in the third-grade curriculum is the sense of accomplishment arising out of their love of work. Combining these qualities results in the growth of a human being with focused thinking, a reflective heart and a desire to work.
