Red Rose rest time and the YMCA Afterschool Program
Welcome!
The Red Rose Kindergarten is offering a rest~time period for one hour after the regular Kindergarten day. The program is held Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 1 to 2:00 pm. There is no rest time on Mondays and Fridays. The daily rhythm begins with a quiet hour of rest inside. The children will hear a story. Rest starts after lunch.
The YMCA provides Aftercare from 2:00 pm- 6:00 pm, Monday- Thursday. You can learn more about the program and register HERE

DAYS & HOURS
The YMCA Afterschool program is open Tuesday– Thursday from 2PM – 6PM. Kindergarten and preschool students can attend the YMCA Afterschool program after participating in a rest/quiet period from 1PM-2PM in the Red Rose Kindergarten. Make sure to register for BOTH.
LOCATION
Rest time is held in the Red Rose kindergarten. The classroom is a no shoe room for children and for adults. Please do not enter with your shoes on.
The YMCA Afterschool program is held in the Dining Hall with use of the beautiful Heartwood grounds.
BILLING and PAYMENTS
Please reach out to your Aftercare provider for details on timely billing.
PACK A SNACK
If your child is with Aftercare for more than an hour, pack extra food.
PACK LAYERS
We play outdoors in all weather. Pack extra socks, shirt and pants in your child’s backpack. In rainy weather, children should come to school in rain gear, including pants, jackets and boots.
HEALTH & HYGIENE
Children will be asked to wash their hands before entering the room, before eating, after eating and before going home. This is a preventative action, because so many children from throughout our community share Aftercare. It is our aim to prevent the spread of colds, flus, head lice and pinworms.
Let Aftercare teachers know if your child has allergies or anything else related to physical or emotional health.
PHONING AFTERCARE
In the rare event that you can not be on time for pick up, please call the Aftercare provider directly.
SIGN OUT
Aftercare teachers will sign in your child. You are responsible for signing out your child with the provider.
WAIVER & EMERGENCY FORMS
Turn in completed forms on or before your child’s 1st Aftercare afternoon. These forms originate from your specific Aftercare provider.
