Preschool

Emerald Heart is now offering a nature-based program for preschool age children at the Bothin Girl Scout Campus, in collaboration with the Heartwood Community.

Emerald Heart provides children with a rich environment that includes ample opportunity to nurture their imagination and social development with particular attention to the overall health and well being of the whole child.

The preschool years are an amazing time when Nature is alive and full of wonder, time moves slowly, and a love of life takes root when children are immersed in a developmentally appropriate environment.

At Emerald Heart, we honor and nourish the unique inner landscape of each child through daily focus on

  • social and emotional development
  • physical development
  • creative thinking and expression
  • nature connection.

Emerald Heart is nestled within 300 acres of forest. Children and teachers will spend the majority of their time outdoors, befriending and connecting with Nature. Throughout the months, we will create an ongoing 3-dimensional Nature Journal.

Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9:00AM to 2:00PM, with optional aftercare.

Taira Restar is our lead teacher. Taira is a mother, educator and somatic movement therapist. She has taught nature-based classes and workshops to children and adults internationally for over 30 years.
